Intervention Details:
An Export Readiness Assessment and a Critical Planning Exercise were conducted to evaluate the co-operative’s operational capacity and growth potential. Based on these assessments, SEDFA implemented the following key interventions:
Access to Finance (CDSP): machinery support valued at R830,000 was provided to boost poultry production operations.
Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation: assistance was provided to establish and implement a QMS framework to improve production standards, compliance, and product quality.
Access to International Markets: the co-operative was selected to participate and exhibit at the International Cooperatives Day event, gaining exposure to global markets and networking opportunities.

3. Revenue Growth: Annual turnover increased from R122,200 to R615,000.
4. Profitability Changes: Despite revenue growth, net profit declined from R36,893 to a net loss of R263,639 due to higher operating expenses, and limited access to the abattoir.
